This home is designed to be energy efficient through a multi layered building envelope, efficient HVAC, fixtures and appliances, and an energy monitoring system that gives transparency to you on how much energy you are using.

The Container House is a concept home for sustainable living.

Sustainability in design has three components, all equally weighty. One is to have a positive effect on the environment. This means energy efficiency, using materials responsibly and designing spaces to fit their function. Two is to be economically efficient. This ties into the first. Reducing monthly bills and making smart up front investments in materials and systems. Third is having a positive effect on the community. Making good choices on the first two makes this happen.
